Home of the Underdogs shut down for good →
Dang, that feels kind of sad. HotU was just about the best place there was to find old-timey DOS games, and they had decent manual scans and good colour commentary too. via Waxy

Bespin sounds almost exactly like a thing that I’ve wanted for a while and contemplated building myself. I’m almost sad I don’t have to. The video is pretty nerdy though. via Lifehacker

At work this morning
James: You know what this coffee tastes like?
Me: What?
James: Watered-down chocolate-covered coffee beans. But without the chocolate.

Now this is a really cool clock. Spooky looking, but it messes with your brain by stopping or slowing down or going backwards periodically. I like that. via Wired

Oh snaps! It’s almost as though gay relationships are a lot like hetero relationships. Makes you wonder what the fuss is about. via twitter/haikunews

Playing Twilight Imperium on Saturday
Matt: So how does it work if you have troops on a planet with no spaceships to support them? Can I move through that tile with my dreadnoughts?
Kevin: Hang on... [[ checking the rules ]]
Matt: It doesn't make sense for a player that only has ground troops to be able to block enemy ships from moving through that sector of space. Space is huge.
Me: Yeah, what are the ground troops gonna do? Jump really high? Shoot their little pop guns? I bet your pilots are all like "HI WE SEE YOU FROM ORBIT YOU ARE LIKE TINY ANTS FROM UP HERE!" and the dudes on the ground'll get all angry as they watch your star destroyers go past. Maybe moon them and make raspberry noises!
