Once again, recording on my phone with some musical typing embellishment. I believe I will need to start doing this with more frequency to get better. It’s a start though.

It’s been a while since I uploaded something I recorded. This time I have a totally fake saxophone!

I would like to note that I’ve never heard this song before. I googled it and found a Louis Armstrong song that wasn’t it at all, so I made up a melody to go with the chords. It’s not perfect, but it works, and it let me push my singing range a little.

Yes, the solo is one note. Yes, it’s like that in the original too. Hooray for the 90s!

I am in favour of coming home and banging a song out right away. Putting the song out is more important than fussing over it and making it perfect.

This post is a bit wordier for two reasons:

  1. The rhythm I’m playing is the Subway Shuffle, and if you want to learn it, go talk to Patrick.
  2. My uncle is Jim Crowe.

By my count, I’m behind by several songs. Let’s fix that.

Seriously people you have no idea. I think I’ve spent like 3 or 4 days trying to get a take of this song that sounded good. It should not be this difficult, it’s two patterns that alternate and neither one is hard! What is wrong with my fingers!?

Oh well. Got a version that’s good enough for the filthy, filthy internets. Also, the longer it takes, the better I feel afterwards, so there’s that.

I have discovered a remarkable ease in producing songs that are less than a minute long. Short and silly, and apparently also featured on the Muppet Show once upon a time. Go figure.

Perhaps a bit rushed in the production, since I was originally going to do a different song, but still good.
